We are looking for a CNC Swiss Machinist level II or III to join our team! This is for 1st shift: 

1st shift: 6a-4:30p (Monday through Thursday)

Position summary

The Machinist II position meets all Machinist I essential requirements and is knowledgeable with all machine functions.  This role is required to set up and adjust parts and tools and requires programming knowledge.

 

Essential Job Functions                                                      

• Perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specification


• Check parts for conformance to specifications, set up repeat jobs, troubleshoot issues, and make program edits


• Provides an intermediate level of machining techniques


• Understand tool detection, tool presetting and probe


• Make program edits and maintains efficiency levels at or above 90%


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues


• Make program changes and edits to control the lengths and chamfer sizes, eliminates chatter, and adjusts the speeds and feeds


• Set up repeat orders through a good first piece inspection


• Understands sample sizes and frequencies


• Initiates the process for non-confirming material


• Understands and exhibits intermediate level blueprint reading, geometric tolerancing concepts, and math skills


• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements


• Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work


• Partner with other business segments:  sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance


• Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve


• Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly


• Participate in required company meetings


• Maintain an organized work area (5S)


• Participate in the Operational Excellence Program


• Complete all other work duties as assigned


• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)

• Associate Machining Degree


• 2 years of experience as a CNC machinist


• Mechanical Aptitude


• Ability to use a microscope and operate hand tool


• Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings


• Ability to cross-train in other areas of production when required


• Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)


• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills


• Attention to detail


• Organizational skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment


• Ability to prioritize and multitask

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

• Advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)


• Advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC)


• Experience working in a highly regulated industry (FDA, ISO)

Physical & Environmental Demands

Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process.  Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
